Loud Small Cab for punk rock?

I need a new cab that will be loud enough to fill a medium to large bar. We play mainstream-ish punk ala Green day, Blink, Weezer, so being loud is part of the deal. I also want something small so it's easier to haul around every week.

My current amp is EDEN WT550 WT-550.

Can I get away with just one cab?
If so, what small cabs would you recommend for my amp?
Should I get a new amp that would work better?
Should I consider a nice combo amp?

Thoughts?? Thx!

I like to plug Genz Benz gear a lot because it fits what I like. Check out their Uber series. An 8 ohm Uber 212 would allow you to build a component rig but have one killer standalone cab.

You should always state your maximum price when asking for gear suggestions.
I’d say your best bet is an Avatar B212 NEO, the 4 ohm version to maximize power.
Since you are playing rock/punk, no need to overpay for anything super hi-fi or “articulate”.
It will get plenty loud with that head.
I would have said Dr. Bass because I love mine, but… :bawl:

I have tried this query before. Basically i found everything farted out below a 2x12. So thats the smallest rig i was able to play with.

Try the avatar 212 or if you have the money buy 2 15E svt cabs from ampeg. Someone here is selling them for a sweet deal in the classifieds last i checked.

Well

8x8 cabs are smaller than 8x10 cabs...

Honestly, you could probably manage just fine with a good 410 cab, I don't know if I'd go much smaller than that.

Do you have a heavy hitting drummer to deal with?
Guitar players with full stack setups, combo amps?
Will you be running a DI through the front of house on a regular basis?

If you know you're going to need volume and only want one cab, just make sure you get a cab that takes full advantage of your amps power. I'd lean towards a 4ohm 410 or 212 cab.
Unless you're planning on having some flexibility in adding a 2nd cab, then go with 8ohm to add another 8ohm down the road a bit.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the TL-606 1x15 cab design, loaded with a 400 watt EVM-15L. The old Mesa Diesel and Roadready 1x15 cabs were exactly this. That will cut through anything, and one is all you really need for small to medium size shows. Add a second one for absolute destruction.
