Loud squeal after bass fell

My Stingray 5 fell out of the wall hanger cradle with a cord plugged into it yesterday. I was playing, and had to run to the restroom, so i hung it with the cord plugged in for a few minutes. I heard a loud crash, and there was my baby on the ground. I think it landed on or hit the plug, because when i tried to play it the volume was very low.
The plug seemed loose, in that it fell it if i bumped it lightly. It also makes this horrendous squealing noise if i bump it the wrong way. I took apart the jack, spread the little piece inside that presses against the plug to the center some. No wires looked out of sort, nothing loose. Put it back together, and it plays ok with the plug in the right position, which is about 75% of the time, but if i move or something, it goes to majorly reduced volume , then this loud squealing sound happens. It almost sounds like a loud tearing sound.
Any ideas? This is one of my prized possessions, and i could take it to a guitar store to have it fixed, but if it just needs a new switch, i can solder one of those one. I have soldered new caps and switches before on another guitar, it looks similar in scale.

Turning this to the pros..... please help!
