Low Output on DR High Beams

What did you have on there before? Same gauges as the Hi Beams?

And why didn't you wait until the new strings arrived before taking off the Hi Beams?
I had a set of D'Addarios on but the G and E string was dead. I replaced them with the HI-Beams same gauge as i always use. I did some research after I posted this and it seems its a Problem with others as well. Never had this problem before with other strings.

Should you ever give DR another shot, I'd recommend giving Sunbeams a try. This is just my experience, but the couple of times I pulled the trigger on hi beams they had a inherent brittleness to their tone I never cared for. Sunbeams have a nice fat bottom end with plenty of output and clarity, and they dont die off into a thuddy lifeless string with nasty overtones the way nickle XL's do.
