Double Bass Low tension/stiffness strings

Thats what I found but the Evah mediums on my bass were the same tension as the spiro mediums. Its apparently not normal.

A raised saddle only removes pressure to the top but not tension of the strings.

I had a brain block and misspoke; I know that about raised saddles when I'm thinking correctly.

So I just did an experiment with my bass. I'm trying to not play it till my arms are healed more but I took it out and tuned the strings down a whole step and it felt great. Little loss in definition on the E but nothing too bad that I don't think I'll be able to live with so I'm hoping the spiro or zyex light come close to that.

Bob Golihur's website has one of the best selections of lower tension strings and sets that are often difficult to find on more generic string merchants. He also often lists the string tensions for sets, which is helpful for comparing sets.

I think you will like the Spirocore weichs, but they are on the higher tension-side for a weich string, FYI, so you may need to go lighter. If you want definition AND very low tension, my vote goes for the Corelli 370M (tungsten).
