Need some help on this one. My two main basses are a 97 MIM P-bass and a Geddy Lee Sig. Jazz. The Geddy has much lower output than the P-bass. I've A/B'd them and A/B'd the Geddy with a Squier Fretless I have and the Geddy is "softer" than both. Is the cause the "vintage" style pickups in the Geddy, or is something wrong with it? Your thoughts and suggestions please. Thanks.

Low volume output on Jazz Bass...

other then volume knobs and pre-amp specs, another factor that affects volume is the distance between the pickups and the strings.
