Lubbock opportunities?

Sounds like not much has changed since I moved out in the early '80s, not surprising. If you're looking for mild weather in the winter Lubbock is not the place, I shoveled enough snow to know and you will have to get used to the wind blown dirt throughout the spring and early summer.

I think that if it is your goal to pay your rent by playing music you would be better off in one of the larger cities.

The summers are hot and dry, the winters can go from being warm to snow in about a day, and it's always windy. No joke there, it is ALWAYS windy in West Texas. That being said, Lubbock is kind of an oasis in West Texas. It's a very cool, very young town. That's mainly because of Texas Tech. Not the first place in Texas I'd choose to live, but it's far form the last.
