Dude, just Fastfret rub, your roundwound string giving you luxury feel allllllll day looooooong.

Pressure wound are ovalwound, but once i fret the string , due to high tension and stiff, i can feel how uncomfortable the pressing feel after use Ti flat, LTF4A , DR sunbeam and Dunlop SBN round.

Well, "luxurious-feeling" is a pretty subjective term, but taken as literally as I can, I'd say the most luxurious-feeling strings I've played are the Pyramid tapewounds. The wrap on those strings has a fabulous texture. And they are roundwounds under the wrap so they sorta qualify. They're not for everybody, though.

Optima makes two more Gold lines now, beside the classic 24k Gold: the "Unique 24k Gold" (as depicted in @MasterMonkeyMan's post) and the "Maxiflex 24k Gold". The blurb for the Uniques in particular mentions "soft playing feel", whatever it means. Never tried either (well, all three: I only tried Optima Gold guitar strings at one time).

I'm looking for strings that have a positive attitude and know their place. They don't care if I'm looking at them or not because they're secure. Sometimes they have to step in and do the playing for me.

Yep. As others have already said: TI Jazz Rounds. No two ways. Expensive and worth it. I’ve got a set on my JB. And the only way they’re ever coming off is when I replace them with a fresh set.

My #1 bass is a smooth-feeling and playing 80s Fernandes PJ. It hasn't been getting as much use lately, as I've switched to rounds for most band uses. It's got Fender 9050s on it, and I tried some DR Pure Blues. They worked great at the show, but I felt like they lost some of the luxury vibe that comes with smooth-playing flats.

Any suggestions for luxurious-feeling roundwound strings that are gonna make me want to have rounds on that bass. For reference, I've liked the feel of DR round-core 45-105 Sunbeams and Pure Blues on my other basses. Sonically I'm still learning. I have no great preference between nickel and SS.

I've tried GHS Pressurewounds in the past and didn't really like the sound or feel, although I did like the distinctly non-luxury Boomers. I've also tried half-wounds and wouldn't really go that route again. I'm just looking for a sweet set of strings to tempt me away from flats. If they're expensive I'd want them to last a while. I'm not obsessed with new-string zing.

As a long time player of round wounds, in general I don’t think of them being luxurious, much like I don’t think of a hammers in that term. I’m thinking that what you might be looking for from a tactile standpoint are pressure wounds. As for tone, I can get pretty luxurious playing rounds with the right EQ. JMO, and good luck with your hunt/

TI Jazz Rounds use small diameter wire so they feel smoother than normal roundwounds. Low tension, great tone and they last for years so in the long run you actually save money. I use those on my Jazz Bass.
