I almost went to Lynn, but the teacher I was going to study with, Shigeru Ishikawa went to Switzerland. Since then they have been through a couple of teachers and seem to have settled with Mr. Cobb. I liked how it was a small conservatory, with a high talent level inside a major university. They have everything you can want for a regular college experience, but all that you need to receive a specialized music education. I have several friends there, and they love it, specifically because they only take the amount of students necessary to fill the orchestra. I don't know how competitive it is, but I cannot imagine being overly competitive with the people that I've met.
As far as I now, they work it out so that Cobb goes down there once a week and they do get weekly lessons with him. I do not know how true this is, and am a little skeptical of it because Cobb is so busy in NY and barely teaches his students there every week. All in all it's a great school though, and it definitely can't hurt to be in sunny South Florida.
