Double Bass M.O.G. Basses

I am pretty sure that they are all $1200 including strings and shipping. Mine shipped with Thomastik Superflexible strings which are about $150. So, considering it must be at least $200 to ship to the US, the basses themselves are pretty inexpensive. They aren't perfect- there are some finish flaws and the board could be planed and leveled better- but they are cool handmade basses. Out of the baby bass 'copies' that I've tried, the Azolas sound the best---but they are alot more expensive. I prefer the tone of my MOG to the Ray Ramirez basses that I've tried, but the Ramirez's had a more refined finish. Also the Ramirez basses are alot more expensive.

I find that a preamp really helps with the bass. My old MOG didn't need one-it was loud-but I feel that the newer one really benefits from it.
