Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by Marvinisbass, Jan 26, 2006.

  1. M5 or U5? which one why and etc.

  2. Used in what setting? Studio? Live? The M5 is a mic pre and the U5 is a DI.....

    U5,

    Why?

It's more economical, and it still sounds excellent for bass.

  4. Looks like the M5 can accept an instrument signal too although it's a mic pre. I owned a U5 and it kicked a$$ for bass both for recording and as the pre in my rig. Wish I still had it sometimes.....

  5. U5 - it is THE solution for bass, imo! Avalon rocks!
