M83 Oblivion OST...

Enjoyed the TV performance, and I listened to the OST today. Good stuff. I'm gonna catch a matinee of the movie this week I hope. Did you have anything to do with the soundtrack or was that all Anthony? At first listen, I really enjoyed the way it went from somewhat (in a way I hate to say) predictable modern Sci-Fi soundtrack orchestral arrangements and sounds (nice strings and giant Hans Zimmer Inception stabs) to brilliant blooming M83 moments. I'm excited to see how that fits with the movie story and visual.

Yeah, I totally understand about the relatively predictable sci fi orchestral vibe. But yes, there are intense M83-isms aplenty, especially when you see the film. It really complements beautifully. I liked the movie a lot...I went to the premiere the other day with Anthony; was pleasantly surprised at the emotional tension the film created and the utterly mind-blowing and innovative visuals. Anyway: no, I didn't help on the film at all...it's exclusively Anthony along with Joe Trapanese as his co-composer/arranger.

I saw the film today. I liked it, and the score was really good for the movie. Kudos to Anthony!! I hope he receives the accolade that he deserves for the work.
