So many mentioned here...and all great bass tunes. Edit: gonna add: If I Needed Someone...

I remember playing "Rain"...along with several others mentioned here...in 1967, on my new Hofner Beatle Bass...a gift from my father. I was in bassplaying heaven...

I was just watching that youtube link, watching the video (featuring the Hofner) and thinking that the bass now sounds (to me, at this late date) more like a bass-ey Rickenbacker than a Hofner.

One of these days I'm gonna drag out the Ric (Hofner's long gone) throw on some Beatle lp's, and renew some old acquaintences...gonna be kind of rough to get that sound with round-wounds, but it'll be fun trying...
