I was looking at the Bulldog video on YouTube a while ago, which was linked in a thread very similar to this, and something just hit me over the head. That bouncy rhythm that a lot of these songs share, and that gets credited to Paul, well, it's really Ringo's credit. Paul got that from him, or at least it is a whole-rhythm-section thing, but I really think it's Ringo's genius, this. I came to appreciate his contribution so much more, while I grew up just taking the goofy drummer for granted.

My favorite of his basses. I wish he would play it more. I love the way he incorporated the low string on the albums he recorded with this bass.

Yes, "Lucy" is a great McCartney tune. In that same vein, so is I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends.
