Mackie SRM440 as mains

Just looking for some opinions from those who have used them as mains with a pair of subs. I play in a cover band and we own a pair. We also have huge 2x15 cabs that are almost always too large for types of gigs (weddings, corporate gigs) we play.

If anyone has used them as mains, I'm also looking for some EQ suggestions as I feel my bass is a little week in them. I set the crossover at 100hz, so the subs carry most of the load. We can't afford new powered speakers.

They're pretty nice. There are a few preset EQ thingummies on the back of each speaker; I would leavfe all of them disabled except the HPF, personally.

IME they can get very toppy very fast, but as long as you're careful and don't go overboard with the EQ, you can get a nice sound out of 'em. What does your band consist of? How many mics do you use on the drums, if any?

4 piece band, bass, guitar, drums and keys. Usually use 4-5 mikes for the drums.

On back of the Mackies are 3 buttons: contour, time release and a HPF at 75hz (this is the only one I engage)

We use those, with the SRM1501 subs, and sometimes we also use a pair of JBL subs and cross-over the SRM1501's a little higher. They sound great!
I've heard the newer bluish colored speakers aren't as nice as the older ones, but I don't have any first hand experience with that.
