So right now I know that I'm getting powered speakers, but I'm not sure which ones to get. I can either get Mackie Thumps with a Souncraft EPM 8 channel mixer and 2 xlr cables for $920 at Guitar Center, or I can get a pair of RCF Art312As ($860) along with speakon cables for around the same price and get the mixer later on. I'm thinking that I should go with the RCFs, but I was wondering what you guys think? Thanks!

Gonna have to agree to disagree on that.

The C-series are crossed over at an actual reasonable frequency unlike the junkier stuff - Samson, Carvin, etc., and use decently designed waveguides.

Look at the Samson passive stuff especially you'll see less evolved horn designs and crossover points that are way too high.

If you see a crossover point that is significantly higher than the pistonic beaming frequency of a PA cab, that's a big fat warning sign :)

Good price. And good thing you went for RCF.
Not even close in term of quality and sound.

FWIW I ordered my RCF at B&H , the 310a is 150 cheaper at B&H but the 312a is cheaper a Proaudiostar , go figure.
