Many years ago I had a 400+, but had to sell due to divorce. I never forgot the tone and the feel. Fast forward to today ... Saw a killer deal on one online and couldn't help but pick it up. It was a great price, and when it got here today ... It's in incredible shape. Still has the plastic from the tag on the rack handle! The only blemishes are from rack screws. What a score! Perfect to go with my TT800!

For all you 400+ owners - what rack case do you use? I'm looking for something easily portable ...

I'm so jealous right now! I had a 400+ when they first hit the market all those years ago... never should have sold it.

I used to work for a production company that would have 5 or 6 heavy crown power amps per rack. The key with super heavy gear is having a way to easily transport it, Not having to wrestle it into the back seat of a Camry or something. If you have a truck or use a band trailer it’s not bad to have two guys pick it up for a second and set it down. then have good casters. I gigged with heavy amps for about 15 years before I got into the class d stuff. It seems counter intuitive but it’s actually easier to move if you put them in a big rack and roll them around. The taller the rack the less you have to bend over to roll it. And you can easily fill a rack with stuff that doesn’t add a ton of weight. A 4 space rack drawer for example is a good place to store cables and strings. A power conditioner, maybe a tuner and you can fill an 8 or 10 space rack before you know it.
