I've found that other than for the obvious collector item issues ( and if you knew that, you would be rich on stocks! ), saving any hardcopies printed in the last many years is not worth the tangible and intangible costs involved. Once read, are you really going to ever a) find the one you want and b) read it again?

I've got a rather large collection of DVD, but can't watch them on my HD TV. Blu-Rays & streaming HD just blow away DVD resolution.
I still own them, but they're on long-term loan to a family member who still has a CRT television & a DVD player, NOT a Blu-Ray player.

only somewhat relevant, but it's my case of hoarding that was just a waste of money
at least I was able to get them all for around $3/each

Only about 20 of those I'm hanging onto purely out of nostolgia.

At least I no longer have floppys, Syquests, reel-to-reel tapes, or zip disks floating around.

I remember those 100mb Zip disks coming and going so fast, total flash in the pan
Once I had a server backup on those disks, changed the disk every day, & had 6 disks

I came across one of those as I was cleaning out my mancave closet yesterday. Brought a smile to my face. Amazing how much progress has been made in the computer space over the last 2-3 decades.

Speaking of leaps & strides in technology, I haven't had a magazine subscription since Larry Flynt publications back in the 90s.

i find so much stuff that is not on the free, readily accessible internet in older print copies. oop stuff that has not been digitized and published on the internet abounds. one random example: "He's a person to be avoided." Mick Jagger on Allen Klein, attributed to NME, from The British invasion by Nicholas Schaffner. It's hidden behind a paywall...one could find it if one already knew it existed.
