Mains power supply for pedalboard

Yes there is always the option to plug in the mains adapter to give the Joyo a boost however the whole idea is to be without a mains supply and I won’t have access to mains power from where my pedalboard is situated.

I just remembered, I’ve just started using my Line 6 G50 wireless as well so that’s something else it will need to charge up as well. That needs a 250mA supply.

I’m hoping that’s ok, it’s just like having 2 effects pedals power-wise? Worst case scenario is having to get another Joyo power brick so the board has one to power the B6 and the other for my Wireless unit and Boss compressor. I’m hoping it won’t come to that though.

I also have one of these things (Joyo ZGP noise blocker) which is on my individual supply from my pedal power to the B6 as it was a bit noisy. It does cure it but I won’t be needing it with the Joyo JP-05 as the fault is on my pedal power supply unit. I forgot that is also a Joyo product, again very well made little device which does the job!

Further to my recent posting, all powers up fine etc, however on listening through headphones there is a fairly high pitched noise evident (not very loud but noticeable ) and it has been necessary to re-install the Joyo ZGP noise filter (see photo) which I had to use with my previous mains powered power supply. With the filter the noise was gone immediately.

Well it’s an hour into it and the Joyo power meter is still on solid green.

At 1hr 55mins of use the light on the Joyo JP-05 turned to yellow signifying 30-60% of charge left and I switched everything off 35 minutes later so it was running for 2.5 hours and still on yellow. Interestingly however after a few seconds I switched the Joyo back on and it would not power up the B6 although it was powering everything else on ok. I repeated this a very short time later and the B6 did then power up?

I’m going to continue the exercise tomorrow morning and see at what point it goes to red light (0-30% power remaining). I am wondering though whether after say another 30 minutes of use whether the Zoom B6 will just switch itself off even though the yellow light may still be on the Joyo?

At the moment I would say it will give sufficient power to do one of our typical gigs which is usually 2 x 45 minute sets plus encore (plus sound check 10 minutes), which combined is just under 2 hours overall usage. At some venues we may do a further set of say 30 minutes so that may need a quick charge between one of the sets to give a bit of confidence it will not give out.
