The neck on my squier is too thin, because a while back, i though i would play better on a thinner neck (i found out that what i was looking for was a neck that was a little thicker, and had a slightly flatter shape). I don't believe it is close to the truss rod, it is just to thin to play comfortably. I am wondering if i can thicken the neck at all, maybe by steam bending thin veneers several times or something. What would you do? I don't care about looks, just better playability. The squier is pretty much my test bass, and i doubt i could sell it even if i wanted to. Also the neck has its last 4 frets scalloped. i am considering de-fretting the neck, but i am not sure about a frettless neck, with a scalloped end. is this a bad idea? Another thing i am a little curious about is micro tones (if that is what it is called) Could someone tell me what that does, and how i could go about doing it (finding the location of the fret bits and such)?
