Tonight I found out something terrible happened to a co-worker of mine. Last night while trying to get some supposed friends and her own dead-beat husband (who have all been leeching off her) to leave her house, they all ganged up and attacked her after work last night. Apparently her husband was holding her down while the 3 other women punched and kicked her, leaving her pretty badly beat up until the neighbors called the cops and broke up the fight. She apparently got her own licks in, but she definitely took a hell of a beating.
Today, being the little badass she is, showed up to work and was actually doing fine, until, as she said, her back "felt like it was collapsing." She then went to the bathroom and found she was urinating blood, which is terrifying on it's own, but when you take into account that she actually only has 1 kidney, well we are all very scared for her. Last I heard from her she was in the hospital awaiting results from a CT scan and some other tests, and I won't find out anything more till tomorrow.
Last week another girl I work with came to work fairly beat up too. Apparently an ex of hers asked her to come over to talk about things saying he wanted to be friends. When she got there, he just started wailing on her with his fists.
Last month I went to hang out with another female friend of mine after work. When I met up with her it was about 10:30pm, but she was wearing sunglasses, and when I asked her why, she took them off to reveal that almost the entire half of her face was black and blue and swollen. I found out later that it was her own biological father who had done it.
I am so disgusted with humanity right now, I'm feeling physically nauseous. I can't even imagine how anyone could justify this kind of behavior against women, and I really just can't even put into words how I'm feeling right now and an attempt would most likely end with me perma-banned from this site. These are all friends of mine and I know them all to be very sweet girls, and this is really killing me. I really want to help, but I have no idea what I would even do.
I was lucky enough to grow up in a house where there was alot of respect between my parents. I mean, there were constant yelling matches, but it never got physical and they were divorced when I was in the sixth grade, which I now understand was better for our family. I did have a really good friend who I would often spend the night at his house, and did happen to see things get violent between his parents, and even though I was very young at the time, I still wonder if I should have done something, and it still eats at me. His father was a drunk, (this was some of my earliest encounters with alcohol since neither of my parents drank at all when I was growing up) but his mother is an absolute angel. They are still married to this day, and I understand that he no longer drinks, but who really knows what goes on behind closed doors.
Now, I'm back where I was. I believe the first two girls are getting the law involved, but the third with the abusive scumbag for a father, is very unlikely to bring the law into the picture, and I'm still unsure as to what to do. What I'd really like to do involves an old rusty hand saw and an assortment of highly corrosive acids, but thats besides the point. Another thing is that out here in Texas, theres a very obvious preference of most people to keep their own business to themselves and deal with their problems and that outside interference is pretty frowned upon, but don't want to end up watching it happen again, or worse.
This is mostly just me getting this off my chest, but I'd love to hear your opinions, thanks.
