Making the big move. What do I need?

Alright guys, I'm moving out to L.A. NEXT summer, so i'm just wondering all the stuff I need to get in order for the move down to L.A.

The thing I can see being the biggest problem is a work visa for a Canadian citizen working in California. Does anyone know anything about that?

Also, is it possible to land a job BEFORE moving out? I have my American lifeguarding, so ideally i'd like to land a job guarding out there.

I do have a place to stay for a while (Shut your face, Maki) until I get my feet on the ground.

Any tips?

I got my job in Seattle, WA before moving out here from PA. A lot of companies who will consider employees who are far away will accommodate with telephone interviews. Some even will help pay for relocation.

I would craigslist it and search for some decent places before you go. Be ready to pay out the nose (or other orifices) for rent. I would save up as much loonies as possible. Are you bringing a car?

That's going to be my big purchase this summer.
Gonna buy a car, then move down. Apparently you NEED a car to live down there.
