Well, I've taken the plunge on my first custom bass:help:
I sent Pete the deposit for the Rodeo bass (specs in the previous post.)

FWIW, the Rodeo is priced fairly and came in well below what I was expecting.

Of course, I will post any build pics that Pete sends me and they'll be a full video demo when I receive the bass.

Very nice! I've spent some time looking over Malinoski's designs on his website. I like them.

It's worth noting that his prices have come down quite a bit on the available instruments, probably due to the poor state of the economy (my conjecture- I haven't actually asked Pete about this).

Bud LeCompte (another of my fave. builders) has very low prices at the moment as well.

If you can afford it, now is the time to have a custom bass built.
