Mana Basso Basses

I was not aware of these basses until I saw their booth at the NAMM Show, but I have to say, I was impressed! Has anyone else seen/played one?

I tried them and was *very* impressed. The workmanship is up there with Alembic imho. Sounded and felt great too. Tony was a pleasure to talk with and I think he's got one of the coolest looking original designs.

followed your links: they look great on the website! but i'm assuming they're out of my budget considerations for an instrument. gorgeous nonetheless. thanks for the info and 'gawk'!

That's part of what I liked, Ted. His designs were very unique, but they seemed to make sense, and the various design elements really worked together. Plus, some of the "design elements" are highly functional, like the added strength from the oversized volute and the extra mass to the headstock (which can help fight dead spots, etc).

Own a fretless one. Excellent craftsmanship, plays and sounds great. Plan on having another one built as soon as I sell a guitar.
