Hey Michael

On "i left america" is that an actual acoustic or an effect? what type of bass?

In the extended notes for Soliliquy you can find the basses he used for each track. For I Left America he used a 5 string Larivee acoustic fretless bass (which I'm pretty sure they haven't made for a while), which he also used in a 'prepared' state for the preceding track, Solipsism.

Also, the entire second disc of "Controlled by Radar" with Vic Stevens and Scott McGill is all acoustic. Great album.
