I was listening to Erik Truffaz today and I thought.. who is this bassist? Talkbass didn't let me down. He has such a tight tone. I thought he'd have a preamp but it appears to be a small amp on a 4x10. He uses a couple of Fender/Lakeland P'basses. In this pic he has foam before his bridge, is that how he gets that tightness?

Hey guys
Just let you know that Cello and the 4tet has just finished the recording session of the new lp. It will be out in January 2016, with a new drummer ( Arthur NHATEK who recently toured with Tigran Hamasyan.) and vocalist Rokia TRAORE and Oxmo Puccino.
Marcello played a Moollon PClassic, a Fender Jazz Bass and a Vox Sidewinder bass IV : http://www.voxshowro...sidewinder.html. The amp in the studio is the US brand Divided by 13 ( no endorsement ).
The Band will tour in Europe next year....

I own and really enjoy a number of Erik Truffaz's CD's, but this thread reminds me that I haven't heard anything by him since Arkhangelsk. I will have to check out some of his more recent recordings.

Well, the 4tet played in Canada and New York ( @ Nublu | Nublu ) few years ago but don't know if a US tour will be schedule in the following months-year...
