Watched this yesterday . He has a great teaching skill.

Tiny my foot!!!
That dude makes Marcus look like he is the size of Prince!!! Tiny has hands the size of Marcus hat.
Bass looks like a banjo in his hands.
I love how Marcus explained how to get “Your” sound. Best advice ever.
Tiny has a very dark sound compared to Marcus bright sound.

Tiny did not sound like he had much mids compared to Marcus. I think the classic scooped Jazz tone has low mids to go along with the bass. I think Tiny pretty much had no mids at all.

Watched it this morning. It was great. I like his attitude and personality as much as his playing.
Spent a good chunk of time watching Chuck Rainey vids yesterday, same deal.
There's a reason these guys got so much work, and it wasn't just their obvious talent.

I have to finish watching this when I have time, but I love his attitude. He seems super approachable and like he'd be a blast to hang out with and learn from. It's always nice to see when the legends act like the average Joe.

Was a cheap ($150), b-stock because the side dots are where they should be on a fretted bass. Does not bother me one bit. Would be an excellent bass at several times the price I paid. Pity that Rondo doesn't really carry much in the way of basses anymore.

Got to watch this at home and really appreciate it, and it confirmed what I previously said. Love to see a legend, so willing to help out people of all skill levels.
I got to meet Nathan East, who is one of by big bass heroes, in a random, not bass related encounter. He was amazed that I knew who he was, but he was so cool and down to earth, and I will always remember that.
I get the same vibe from Marcus Miller here. I'm jealous of the people that got to work with him in the video, but I also learned allot from it.

Likely the Seymour Duncan dual coils and Mike Pope preamp made custom for Fodera.
Watched on Saturday - moved to tears by the end, this is like a master class to various points along the path of being a bassist, so many gems, and Marcus Miller's musicality and personality just shine forth throughout this video. It would be worth going through and transcribing it, at least those bombs he drops like "respect your ideas" and "Tell a story... build expectations, then the audience gets involved." OK, to be honest I went back and watched it a second time and tried to transcribe some of the gems. I had no idea he played on Just the Two of Us but it makes so much sense listening to it now. Watching this video makes me want to grab a bass and start playing!
