mark bass 2x10 or 1x12???

I wasn't thrilled with my MarkBass 210 AT ALL. I felt like it was severely underpowered. The low end was farty at best, when it finally came out. It's not ideal price wise, but in my experience, with MB, you'd need 2x210s, or just a 410. But this also depends on how loud you need to be. What size rooms are you playing?

Now, TWO 1x112s stacked on the other hand...

Also, are you dead set on Markbass?

I have a couple Markbass 112s which I think are quite nice. The 210s can probably handle more power, since it's nearly twice the speaker cone area, but I find the form factor a little weird; it's quite narrow sideways, and my head dangles over the side of it which I find somewhat annoying. I happen to find the 112 is a little punchier, and has a more pronounced upper-mid bump. However, that works well with my amp, which is by default somewhat mid-scooped

If 1 cab is the only possibility I'd go for 1 210 rather than 1 112, but that depends on the volume you're going to use and the type of band.

I use 12's and even for relatively low volume gigs I'd bring a 212 or 2 112 cabs, because 2 12's just sounds so much better.

Worth noting that Markbass makes at least two different 210s and at least two different 112s. I own, more or less, the smaller 112, in the form of the little CMD 121P combo. It's a potent little package and stacks well with another small 112.

Very little experience with the small 210, though I've played it once or twice in a GC. Should get a little louder than the small 112, but I preferred the 112.

The big 210 is, well, bigger sounding, and has a nicer tweeter. Louder than a 112 for sure. Tone... subjective, a little more tight/modern, maybe, a little less mid-growl. If I were getting one MB cab to do everything, this would be it.

Big 112... you know, there's another Markbass thread on here now you should check. Stouter and better tweeter than the little 112.

Among widely available commercial offerings, I think the MB stuff is pretty good. However, for the same price, roughly, as the little 112, you could have Duke at Audiokinesis build you a Hathor 1203. Roughly the same size, a few pounds lighter, and I would anticipate, loads better performance. I don't own one, but have considered replacing my combo with one. I would give the Audiokinesis thread a look. For Markbass, though, you've got my thoughts.
