mark bass through unrated speakers, any help please

Hi

Need to run my littlemark through 2 no. 8ohm 200w pa speakers for tonight, as have not brought my cab yet

Would this be safe if I dont push it to hard?

If so what would be a safe max gain/volume setting?

littlemark is rated at 600w at 4 ohm

Thanks for any help

Use conservative volume, you should not have a problem. I quite often run my LMII through a 12" Pyle 8 ohm, supposedly 250 watt speaker for practice. Don't have any problem with power handling; I typically don't have to run my volume over 9 or 10 o'clock (at practice). The tone of the speaker isn't ideal for a bass guitar, but it's good enough for practice, and what you have is probably good enough for a one-off gig.
