listening to the intro of "Online Songs".......that really powerful bass tone.....am i right in thinking that is achieved by lots of compression/limiting???

i know its played with a pick and i know what bass he uses.

A svt with a ampeg 6x10 or 8x10, it's pretty much the only way youre gonna achieve exactly that sound...

I pretty much agree with that... but I reckon the pick and Quarter Pound pickup are the two most crucial factors...

and I would add 'brand new strings' too

there's a bit of grit in there that you could probably get close enough to with any decent tube/tube emulation preamp without having to shell out Ampeg SVT dollars
