Markbass at Sweetwater

I have this cabinet inbound from Sweetwater right now due to hit here Saturday. The pricing I got from my sales rep was great for a a neo-equipped ultra lightweight cabinet. I'll have to see what I think about the sound. I remember getting the LM II when they first came out. it didn't impress me that much so we'll see about the speaker cabinet. I'm not too thrilled about the rat fur around it top bottom and side panels but I'm okay with the composite cabinet. I mean they have been using composites for decades now so I don't foresee problems there. I'm going to power it with my GK Fusion 800 S that I run with a single 12 GK neo IV cab. I seriously considered getting another GK cab but to be honest the price was so good on the mark bass cab and really like the weight. I guess I will find out Saturday if I like it or not.

This is a great thing for the consumer.
I suspect pricing will be more competitive as these 2 giants vie for our business.

I recall you have a double 2x10 Markbass stack. I was wondering if the 500w MB heads are enough for both or do I go with the 800w? I would mostly be playing with one 2x10 but would need the double stack for open air venues. Any info you could clue me in on is much appreciated. Thank you for your time, Joey T.

Hi Joey,
It's difficult for me to answer your question as I don't know how loud you play. But I played in small semi acoustic to Top 40/Funk to medium loud rock bands. One cab goes farther than you might think but two can get very loud.
If you're on the louder side of the spectrum and have the $$$, the Tube 800 is a safer idea as it mates perfectly with two 102p travelers power wise. But the 500 watt unit is no slouch. I've only used the 500 watt unit and was never hurting for volume. I hope that helps.

I've played the 210 combo vertically stacked with the non-traveler 210 cab for years and have been fine volume wise .

This was was with a pretty loud blues band, one guitar,keyboard, drums. I can't speak to how this would work in a rock setting with 2 loud,thickly EQ'd guitars.

I might have been able to just use the combo but didn't want to push it that hard.

Always used both cabs outdoors.
