Markbass Cab/Milkman Sound Head for Jazz

Hello,
I'm new to this site, but I have played bass for about 14 years. I'm not in any bands at the time and I've not played any gigs in many years. This being said, I've used combo amps just for fiddling around since I began playing bass. I'm looking to get a cabinet and head, and I'm wanting a nice warm, jazzy sound. Something that has a little growl, but nothing wild. Markbass Classic Series 108 Casa cab and a Milkman Sound Half and Half head. Has anyone ever played using these items separately or together? Anyone just have any opinions on this cab/head combo? I have little experience in choosing this type of gear. Just trying to get some advice and opinions from those more experienced than myself. Is this a poor combination? I realize this question is somewhat broad, but I appreciate the assistance. Thank you. -MH

Matt, why are you looking at an 810 cabinet? That would be overkill for messing around in your basement. In addition, unless you are playing on LARGE stages, you do not need that much firepower. I would argue there are FEW situations where that kind of OOOMPH is truly needed on stage. With no PA support, I can understand the desire.

What guitar gear places are near you? (Sam Ash, Guitar Center, others). I suggest you set aside some time to visit these places and try out some new gear. A combo amp is probably perfect for you.
