I know a guy that has a F1 (500 watt flavor).
My question: is it remotely powerful enough to get a decent sound out of my Bergantino NV610?

I'd say its certainly powerful enough. I run an F1 through a Berg "S" stack (ht210s, ht122s), which is notoriously power hungry, and in my opinion, it absolutely kills with those cabs. So yeah IMO definitely powerful enough.
