Markbass Little Mark Vintage

Can't say. There is a [This invalid link has been removed] on the MB site, with semi-parametric EQ and some other features, but still 500 W @ 4 Ohms.

There were a few amps I hadn't heard of on their site, including a [This invalid link has been removed], with a blendable, two channel preamp (SS and 12 AX7 tube) and a 1000 Watt power section and the [This invalid link has been removed] (two blendable channels with downloadable effects, etc., a la Bergantino B-Amp -- this one's only 500 Watts, though).

I guess I've not been keeping track of the latest MB stuff for awhile.

Tried 3 MB amps with my BF Super Compact. A LMT 800, Lm Vintage and. LM III.
My favorite was the LMT 800. The LMV seamed a little thin sounding without the tone of the LMT 800.
I don’t know if the preamps and power sections are all that different. The tube inference is meaningless.
At low gain settings the LMT was very sweet and round. Ultimately settled on a Genzler 800 for tone and flexibility.
Just my thoughts. We all hear things differently.

I've stated on another thread that I have tried the Gold Line Vintage head twice now and I am really liking that amp a lot, and I'm not even a Markbass guy.

I tried it maybe a couple of months ago and more recently 2 weeks ago while auditioning an Ibanez SR870. The following day I took my Streamliner over to compare the 2 and came away pretty impressed with the tone and feel of the Markbass. I'd have to gig it to know how it really compares to the Streamliner, but I was digging it. It does seem to hit harder than the Streamliner while still having this 3D type quality in the feel/tone department at moderate store volume.

I then tried it against an LMT800, Elf (cause it was right there next to it) and a DG Microtubes 900. None of those 3 amps could match the thickness and tone of the Markbass. Again I'm not really a Markbass guy, but that LM Vintage just may find itself in my home eventually.

This is a solid endorsement IMO. I'm always most influenced by reviews/observations where people approach something with a bit of skepticism and walk away being impressed. It's even more influential when it's from credible folks like Wiked G who also seem to listen for and hear things similarly to the way I do.

Now I have to go check this out! :)

Hopefully the Guitar Center stores around the Washington DC area will open at some point in the next couple months. I suspect that will be my best shot.

I've had a Little Mark Vintage for just a couple of days and love it. I had decided that I didn't like Markbass heads, but I think I've found THE head this time. Seems as though there's more of a market now for transparent heads, which can sound sterile without active electronics, but the LMV is the perfect balance between clarity and tone.

Let me spoil the party. Although I'm a convinced Markbass user. How many different versions of the same 500 w class-d amp can a company offer?
I see something added: a preamp tube. I see something omitted:
VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) is renamed Old, VPF (Variable Preshape Filter) is renamed using a bathtube pic, both are no longer adjustable. EQ remained the same.
The VARIABLE filters are for me one of most important features of the MB amps.
200,- more than the LMII.
If I'd be after tube sound, I would much rather buy a decdent preamp for the additional money.

+1...while I'm also a fan of the EQ points and musical tone shaping of the tone-stack, those two filters have always been one of the coolest (and I would almost say defining) Markbass features IMO.

They do have a lot of heads in the 500 watt category. It seems the Little Mark Vintage is the one for people that thought that didn't like Markbass. I had the Little Mark Tube 800 and didn't really care for it. The VLE and VPF didn't do a whole lot for me.
