So I've been looking for an amp for a few months now. I've researched cabs and heads, etc... All to replace the cmd121 I sold last spring. To my surprise, upon visiting the local Guitar Center I stumbled on a TUBE cmd121. I cannot find any information on this amp whatsoever. Did MB actually ever make a tube version of the CMD121 line? If not I can only surmise someone dropped a MarkTube head into the combo cab. Either way I put money on it today after spending a little time playing my upright through it. Sounded pretty damn awesome... Though I'll need to fool around a little bit more to get 'the' sound... And I'll also have to sell my Genz Shuttle 6.0... But I digress... Ideas? Thoughts?

MarkBass MarkTube Combo??

IIRC they are putting the LM800 tube head in them (single dual section mini preamp tube). I could be wrong but I thought I read about that here.
I think there may have been a LM600 as well? I really don't want to be leading you down a dark alley without a flashlight here? MarkBass only gets a passing interest for me, but if I increase the post count for you at least the MarkBass players will come in and correct what I have wrong 
It's not listed on the Markbass website. I have a feeling someone replaced the amp in it with another.
That's what I'm thinking too... But the 600w on the tag is intriguing as well. There's only two versions (according to the downloadable manual) MarkTube rated to 500w and the 800 rated at 750w (both at 4ohms). It doesn't say 800 on the badging for the amp. So this is a quagmire of an amp... I do have an email now into MB and I gave them the serial number. They should be able to shed some more light. I've never contacted their customer service though...
Ask the GC manager for the official Markbass brochure for it. Since GC is the exclusive dealer in the US, I'm pretty sure MB wouldn't want them selling something like this (unless it's marked used and fully disclosed as to what it is).

I played it for an hour in the store with my old German ply. I think the tube did give a warmer tone with the upright. I did fade between solid/tube and heard some difference. I well say it wasn't as warm as a mesa walkabout. But it's got that uncolored MB sound. And it seems to have more power. In a way, I got a free upgrade. The head alone is almost 7 bills new. That's what I'm paying for the whole combo out the door. I'm just curious now about it being rated at 600w. But I guess in the grand scheme it doesn't matter either way.

That is the average power INPUT from the mains, Not the power output. Amps always use more than they put out.
Usually amps will have the output power listed at the speaker outputs @ 4 ohms (or 2 ohms if compatible). Tube output amps will just list the output power at the speaker jacks without the impedance.
