Markbass Momark The Big Bang!

Saw this at NAMM. Here is a pic I took for a size reference with the LMIII.

This head will replace the F1/F500, which are being discontinued. I was not able to hear the head at NAMM, but Peter Murray said the voicing is a bit closer to the LMIII than the F1/F500, so this is basically a bit more fully featured LMIII that is a bit smaller (due to the class D versus A/B amp), same power, with a few more bells and whistles than the F1 or LMIII (i.e., mute switch and headphone out, aux in.

I GREAT prefer the feature set of the F500, but that seems to be a moot point.

Almost always about sales.

It IS odd, but perhaps they do sell more of the LM3 sized units. A dealer I used to buy a lot from said most of his Markbass sales were the normal sized amps, and most people didn't like the very thin form factor and price of the F500....but we aren't talking about Talkbass/Basschat folks who spend a lot of time with new gear.

Now it seems to me the only amps they do I like are the LM3 and possibly the Big Bang....that's it.

Per the above two posts, this product seems an 'evolution' of the 'F' product line. Different form factor than the F1/F500, and a different feature set (basically the F1/LMIII basic front end with the addition of mute switch, phone out and Aux in).

So, the 'next F1'... smaller than the class A/B LMIII, and while I didn't hear this amp, the design goal as communicated to me by Peter Murray at NAMM was to cop more of the LMIII tone in a smaller, more feature packed unit.

It says on the Markbass website that one of the big points is that "has a new design of digital power amp that sounds remarkably like an analog amp".

Preamp: Solid State
Power Amp: Digital
Power: 500W @ 4 Ohms, 300W @ 8 Ohms
EQ: 4-band; Low, Mid-Low, Mid-High, High
Aux In
Headphone Out with Level Control
Mute
Dimensions: 8.94” x 2.56” x 10.04”
Weight: 4.74 pounds

But I could not find any mention of the price, which to me is the main piece of information that I want.
