MarkBass Super Synth vs Source Audio Manta Bass

Hi guys

Question it's simple, I use Fender 70s PB - Aguilar TLC compressor - Tech 21 VTBD and T-Rex Sweeper2 into de fx loop.

I want to add a synth-envelope-distortion (some crazy sound) in the paralel signal of the VTBD to send to the PA, so in this way I keep the clean tones into the bass amp and a "effected" sound to fill the PA (we play just drums, bass and guitar).

Would you choose the Super synth or the Manta Audio?

They are Super Different. Both can get crazy, but the Manta is more of a traditional filter with a modern crazy twist on it. Another option, for more just crazy sounds would be the Source Audio Multiwave Distortion.

The Manta was designed to do three things:

1) A really awesome regular envelope filter (like the original SA BEF)
2) A really flexible envelope filter with lots and lots of options (like the BEF Pro)
3) A single pedal that can approximate the synth-distortion-envelope sounds that people were getting from using the BEF+Multiwave+Synth combination (there are videos on how to do this).

Sometimes it gets lost on folks that this is a very, very flexible pedal with (perhaps) too many sounds.

Ok, I got the Idea there are diferents pedal, but I just can afford one of them. Wich one would you pick, wich one is more versatile and usefull, having the idea I already give you about what I am looking for. Don't you think the SS having the octaver opción and more presets its gonna be better choise?

The MB Super Synth seems like it detects pitch from your bass and triggers a synth sound IE a keyboard sound. The Manta responds to the sound of the bass - dynamics, vibrato and slides etc. I think from danen85's description, he needs the Manta.

Completely different. The downside to the SS is that most of the controls are only in the PC software editor and can't be adjusted without it. You do get presets and crazy sounds. If you want synth sounds get this.

The Manta is a filter pedal. It can make some kinds of synthy sounds, and has tons of on board options. You can use it as a fuzz, hi cut, wah, phaser, and all kinds of filters. You get 2 presets with room to expand to more with the Hub.

So if you want a synth and octave effect get the SS, if you want the fuzz, filter, utility, get the manta. We cannot tell you what you want and need.

Personally I would find the Manta a much more useful pedal, but I'm not you. Maybe if you could post an example of the type of sound you're looking for, it might make it easier to have an opinion.
