Markbass Super Synth

Just got myself a Super Synth, nothing much to add to what's already been said except I love the sounds and am simply blown away by the tracking accuracy. I'm driving it with a Wal fretless with Rotosound Jazz Flats in case that's relevant, with an Empress Effects Compressor first in the chain and with the Super Synth in the loop of an Xotic X-Blender. The Super Synth is a fantastic pedal - if only you could save settings without needing a PC it would be near-perfect.

Do you mean:- Does this device recreate the valve overdrive sound that you already make? Its dirt. It does dirt. Anything does dirt.
Or do you mean:- can I publicize my band on this thread. No you can't. Very few people read it so there is little publicity to be had.

This is not a fair post. You are not listening if you are missing the synth sound he is referring to. I'm not sure if the MBSS can make it, my answer is "maybe."

@Pbassred no intention of promoting at all, couldn't care less about doing it here.
@Adamixoye thanks for the answer, at least its not a 'no it cant'. If it gets pretty close with some fine tuning through the software, that could be enough to shell out the 300 euros, cause I can't find anything else that comes close to that Juno 60 sound we decided to use.
Any other opinions would be much appreciated!

I no longer own the MBSS, but it can do a pretty wide range of sawtooth sounds. So I imagine it can do that.

Thanks for the help so far, it quite surely is a synth (kicks in at 0:55), a Roland Juno 60.
I really want this pedal to work for us, it is simple and latency free. But I fear I have to go down the bass-to-midi route, eg the sonuus g2m, which would complicate things a lot, not to mention intolerable latency for playing live (from what I heard).

I have a Sonuus G2M and I2M, the I2M is more configurable to get the best tracking for your bass and latency into the Animoog software synth on my iPad isn't bad. You'd get that sound out of the Animoog app. Latency isn't an issue at all with the Super Synth of course.

I am leaning towards the Super Synth because of I2M's inherent latency, but I'd love to hear more opinions if any until we decide between that or the I2M.
@ficelles have you ever played live with the I2M? Would it fair well with a fast attack sound such as ours, in a live setting?

While you're here I might as well point out this:
deep impact reissue!!! interested?

TL;DR there is a next-generation reissue/update of the Akai Deep Impact called the Panda Audio Future Impact, by the original developer of the Deep Impact. They started taking pre-orders yesterday (go back a few pages). More expensive than the MBSS, but a lot more options.

Not used the I2M live yet but have rehearsed with it a few times, it works well for pads and for sounds you blend with your straight bass sound but for fast attack I wouldn't consider any audio to midi option as there will always be some latency. If you're after a synth-ey square wave sound you might do better with a bass overdrive like the 3Leaf You're Doom pedal or something similar...

Good evening!

Sorry for refloating this thread but unfortunately I'm facing some problems with the pedal and came here for a little advice, thanks in advance!

My mark bass super synth pedal powers on and is able to connect to the computer, the usb connection works and as well the bypass switch and the other ones.

Whenever I turn it on, it does not give any sound, just some kind of clipping and of course the clipping light is always blue!

Does anyone knows what can be wrong?

Did you try a factory reset? (hold down the bypass button while powering on)

Hey all !
Taking this topic out of the grave just to say that i'm in love with the SS :) Taking it to rehearsal tonight, but I guess it would be a big hit. Initially wanted more available "sounds" for my noise rock duo (bass and drums), and it seems that this box can definitely do the job.
Has anyone tried to send it through distortion or fuzz for ultimate mayhem ? How did it come out ?
