Im currently in the middle of deciding what new head to get for my rig. I currently own a Ashdown Mag 300 (had it for about 2 years) and Ive had a couple of problems with it (mainly having to replace blown fuses at the completely wrong times) and now the transformer has gone and trying to get a new one from them is like drawing blood from a stone.

So anyway....

Ive been looking at the Ampeg ranges (mainly the SVT PRO 3 due to my budget)

But im interested in finding out more about the Markbass range, does any1 have any info?

what amp are you looking at in particular?

I owned an SA450 for bout 6 months. Good amp, loud, good tone, but it was to sterile for me. Way to clean. I need some grit.

And another thing. Search for Markbass, search for Carvin, search for Thunderfunk. Read all those posts. Then search for all the amp names that come up in those discussions that sound interesting.

You should have put a Tech21 VT Bass in front of that amp for your grit. Wonderful pedal.

And another thing. In all the old posts on the Markbass Little Mark II, almost all of the complaints in those old posts on the LMII were solved with the introduction of the SA450, so keep that in mind.

Yes, the archives are full of info, perhaps there is more on Markbass than any other brand. This is also a place to interact with fellow bass players.
