I really hope your new amp exceeds all of your hopes for it!
Now all you need is some decent cabinets like Ampeg!

When I'm placing them on top of my cabs, I use both hands, of course, but for walking them to the truck/van or into the venue, I grab them by one handle and let them hang down. I do this one at a time, too, hehehe...

Same here... one hand/handle schlep... but I gotta admit that I had my drummer give me a hand with it taking it home from practice the other night.
I did by a folding hand cart, just in case, but so far, I haven't needed it!

Friday nights gig went great with the new amp! Easily found a tone and volume to match the band.
There was another bass player in the audience who approached me just prior to start.
"I that a bass amp or a guitar amp?"
"Bass amp"
"Wow, I have never seen one like that before."
So I chatted with him during breaks and he complimented me on my tone... "really nice fat warm sound with a little bit of grit that is cutting through nicely. And, you're louder out here then your guitar player... which is the way it should be!"
I'll take that!

I have (3) VBA400 stacks. They have been my "trademark" rig if you will for several years now. My main axe is an active Fender USA Jazz Deluxe 5 string, and my second is a passive Steve Harris signature Precision 4 string. The corresponding inputs treat each bass equally and I have never had anyone say anything but rave about the tone and power. Even tho the DI is not attenuated it has a great signal and I've never had a soundman complain about it. I've been a Super Bass guy since my first one as a kid in 1975, but the VBA is a whole other animal and a step above IMHO. If you are downscaling and want something light and easy this amp is not for you. You get what you "pay" for, literally and figuratively. If you want badass Marshall tone and power this is the Swan Song of their bass lines. BTW, I play in Country, Rock and Metal bands and this amp kills for all styles of music.
I agree, passive and active bass sound great. You play metal, country or reggae this amp does it all.
I picked up a VBA-400 w/ VBC810 and VBC412 cabs. It’s a great amp that is so powerful and toneful, I think I’m gonna sell my SVT VR and Ampeg fridge.
Yes, I have had mine about a decade now and used Alembic Essence 5 and Warwick Thumb active basses in the passive input as well as a range of other passive 4 and 5 string basses from mostly Gibson and Fender over that time and it makes every bass sound better, (Meaning accentuating its full tonal capability) according to my long time guitarist who has 60 years playing experience under his belt.
I have my VBA and also a JCM800 and on stage, they sound pretty close after I dial them in so that when I swap them out during a set change to give them a run, I still sound like me and my basses still sound great.
