Marshall VBA400- overdrive

Next weednesday i'll have the opportunity to try out a VBA400
right now i'm the happy owner of a traynor YBA200
well
i mostrly play Hardcore/punk/rnr and i love gritty overdriven tones
I like the cranked sound of my yba but i'm really tempted by the big marshall
i own an ampeg 610hlf cabinet
i know that will be very difficult to use this amp obtaining the power tubes distorsion so i'd like to know if is possible to obtain goob overdriven tones from the preamp tubes and how this amp works with a cabinet like mine

thank you so much

Lele

As an owner, I actually like to sue the preamp as a somewhat over driven sound with a Sparkle drive in front for the more fuzzy tones. It does a great round fat vintage sound.

All depends on your EQ, your bass, the basses EQ, and your playing style though. The fun thing about your situation is....drum roll.....you can play it adn decide for yourself!

I love mine.
