I know he played drums on Motown session and he played keyboards on his own albums, but it would be cool if he played bass too.

Marvin Gaye on Bass?

I know he played drums on Motown session and he played keyboards on his own albums, but it would be cool if he played bass too.
I would have added a lot of cool factor to our instrument and one wonders just what grooves he would have contributed. Alas we must struggle along listening to his records with the bass players he used, sad bunch that they were. 
Buying my first Marvin Gaye record "Super Hits" back in 1970 was an adventure, leading me to venture to a record store in "the wrong part of town", upsetting my Mom, buying my very own stereo and my Pop wisely buying me a set of Koss K6 headphones to keep the peace.
