Really like the job Mike Elizondo does on this back in the day jam:



Did not pick up the bass nuance back then as I didn't know what to listen for.

Knowing when to play/not play, slap & pop....the guy is good.

Bassplayer played just the right amount of notes in the proper place/space as to not crowd or smother. That's how its should be done when there's not a whole lot going on in the background. Most r&b singers likes it ''clean'' IMO.
