Mas Que Nada

Hi gang

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere - I did have a look but couldn't turn anything up. I need to learn mas que nada (preferably the elza soares version) by Monday and it is surfacing my anxieties about jazz / walking basslines.

Does anyone have a chord chart or tab I could follow? Or even just some advice about how to approach it or break it down?

Sorry, I don't have a chart for you, but I can suggest two things.

(1) If you search the web for "mas que nada" plus "sheet music" or "partitura," you'll certainly find something. But you'll have to figure out what key you're doing the song in.

(2) When you're playing this song, you're not going to be doing any jazz walking of the type you would with a jazz standard. In its *most basic* form, the accompaniment for this style of tune and this groove will be based on 1 and 5, in a fairly regular rhythmic form. Of course there's more once you really get into it, but if you just need to survive a song by Monday, you probably just need the simple stuff.
