Master volume master tone question

Hello, I have a PJ Mustang and I’d like to eliminate the switch component. Is it possible to wire a PJ with just using two pots: master vol and master tone? No switch and no blend…. I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find a diagram. Thanks.

Yes. You could use a P bass diagram and connect both hots to the same potentiometer tab and both grounds to ground.

To most folks, the point of a PJ is to have a few sonic options. Nixing the switch negates that flexibility. Unless the only sound you like is both pickups on, you may want to reconsider adding a switch.

I’m going to give it a whirl this evening. I can always switch it back if I don’t like it.

Well, it worked but the pickups were out of phase. I didn’t feel like messing with it anymore so for now I’ve just wired up the Nordstrand P and disconnected the J. So I’ll have a mini P bass until I get bored again and upgrade the J also.
