Matching (brands) Head and Cab(s)?

I already have the head, looking forward to adding the (matching) 15's sometime ( I hope) in the near future

There is always the aspect of having a rig that looks intentional, planned out and matched.
It's hard to argue that part.
How it sounds is a whole other animal.
Sometimes amps and cabinets may be voiced to compliment each other.
Other times they are just as random as using different brands.
G-Ks seem very happy with Ampeg cabs.
The old Acoustic Control amps like Acoustic cabs.
Vintage tuck and roll Kustoms just don't look at all right on other cabs.
Dual Showmen can benifit from Sunn cabs.

Then there is the question of what are you looking for.
Maybe you want hifi, full range sound.
Both amp and cab have to deliver for that to work.
Maybe you want a mid scoop.
A cab with a 15 that drops off to nothing @ 1,500 and then uses a horn above 4 K can do that.
Maybe you like a baked in mid hump.
A cab that uses JBLs or EVs will have a hard time not giving you their signature mid hump.

Mixing and matching can help get what you want
or prevent it.
You just need to be aware of what does what.

I love the Mesa M6 & M9 through GK cabs, in particular the RBH cabs.
