I usually consider matching headstock color a big plus.

I also tend to prefer the same color on the back of the neck.

I have the black Jag. I like the Maple headstock better than the Hot Rod Red w matching headstock look.

I really like a matching headstock. I think it really makes the bass look nice. Does it make or break a sale, no. If I ever get my Carvin you can rest assured it will have a matching headstock.
