I noticed these before. I would be interested in one for a trip overseas. I hope to do some sort of research or exchange in Africa again before I retire. It would be really cool to go to Mali, Senegal, Gambia, or Guinea, since these are countries with such cool music. A mini bass would be great for travel. This seems cost about as much as the most expensive Kala U basses.

I know this is a thread derail, but it is worth noting that the Mayones comes stock a bridge looks to be easily intonated.

Yes the bridge is easier to intonate than my other three basses.

The Kala looks a bit longer than my Cali 4 but the Kala is a nice bass.

That makes sense - one of the real issues with short/odd scale lengths is dealing with the string's transition from the wound portion to the part intended to wrap around the tuner, for strings bigger than 85 or so gauge. Having an 82 as your thickest string neatly avoids that issue.
