MB450H set up

Hi Guys - would appreciate some help setting up my new rig.

Have just bought a marshall MB450 head with a 4x10 cab and a 1 x 15 cab. Both cabs have tweeter switches - 1. why 2. should I have them switched on or off when playing bass?

Also the rig runs 300w at 4 ohms and 450w @ 2 ohms. I'm not sure how to link the cabs for the two settings (last stack i used was a trace eliott and the cabs were wired in parallel from cab to cab but the mb450 has 2 outputs) do i just connect the speakers individually direct to the head outputs or link in parallell? ie head to the 4x10 then to 1 x15?. would really like some advice as i dont want to link the cabs in parallel like this and find the head has already been internally wired in parallell (so i might end up dropping the cabs to a 1ohm imepdance??)

Big up to you guys with the knowledge

Thanks in anticipation

Yes, the speaker outs on the head are wired parallel, use one skr cable for each cab from the head.

concur.

I tried all the different horn configs on my 450/410/115 rig, and finally decided that I like them both off. At first, the 410 had it "on", but after some comparison, I shut that one down too. Be certain to use a good quality speaker cable. Some dudes will try to save a buck or two by using spare patch cords, but that's a bad idea. :rollno: Spring for the extra dough and do it right...

...one last thing. Need a photo, or you're running a Crate 40w combo. :D

Proper gents you guys. Many thanks for all your help and advice. Have stuck a pic of the rig as she stands now - still got the sales stickers on the cabs! Got a gig this weekend and rehearsal tonight - wait till the boys see and hear this!

Thanks again. Catch you on the forums again no doubt

Regards

Steve
