ME50B normalizing volume question

I've been switching between bank effects on my ME50B (Bank 5, setting 1 and Bank 5, setting 2 specifically) to use some of the in-built effects for a few songs my band plays.

For some reason I just can't get an equal volume across any of the patch settings. So for some effects the volume is very loud and on others it's too soft. And of course when I switch the patches off and play "clean", it halves my volume!!

Playing live would be a nightmare if I had to keep adjusting the amp settings to compensate for volume variation and I have a hard time believing I need to go through that process.

So what's the best way to normalise the volume? Do I need to go through all the settings and even the volume out and re-save the patches, or is there a trick I don't know about?

Match your master output in bypass mode with the compressor/Limiter of your choice switched on (to mentain volume when you return to bypass mode, ok it's then not true bypass, but you have additional volume) a fraction lower than your amp so that you don't create undesired distortion.

Then on each patch; the volume in memory mode needs to be equalized by E.LEVEL knobto create balanced patches. That's how I work it. Other's may have better methods. Of course you may have to tweak the EQ between patches before saving, which is drifting from the presets, but often necessary for your rig in any case. Let's know how you get on. Perhaps move/copy your patches to user bank in case you wish to revert. If you're staying in manual mode - just adjust the E.Levels until they are all equal with Master Level almost matching your amp - Leave the Compressor/Limiter of your choice switched on at all times, unless in memory mode you can change & save within patches. Now I'm starting to waffell.

Bassman 100 pretty much has it.

1. Tweak the compressor so that the volume output from the comp. module is about equal to the bypass tone.

2. Tweak the master EQ / Volume for each patch to match the bypass tone.

3. Tweak the overall drive volume for each patch. This obviously won't work if you are going octave->chorus, but you get the idea.
