MEC $$ Pickups

What's wrong with the color code on the Warwick website?

Interestingly enough, it turns out that the pickups have different color codes. That's unusual.

Yeah that's the diagram he needs!

But the pickups don't have different color codes as they are 2 identical pickups. You use different wiring for each switch depending on which coil you want to cut, like I've been trying to explain :D

I just looked over the diagram again, to check and decipher the coil wiring.
NC+ is 2, NC- is 5, SC+ is 0 and SC- is 9, for both pickups.

No matter which pickup is used where, its switch WILL switch to the proper coils.

I've been saying that all along (see post #5), but they each have to be wired differently to cut the correct coil. You can't wire the switches both the same.

Just in case i understand this not correct: Does color code mean that the pickups are different colored or something? That is not the case with my pickups

So you are both saying that if i wire the pickups like shown in the diagram that the correct coil will be cut no mater which pu I will place in neck position and which hi will place in the bridge position!? Great, thank you!

The coil splitting will always work properly, but that is not to say that the pickups will sound right if they are switched. Bridge pickups are usually wound with a different voicing, and a higher output than neck pickups.

Yep, according to Warwick both pickups are identical so it does not matter which goes where. You can probably tell which is which by the wire length...the pickup that was at the bridge will generally have shorter wire since it's closer to the cavity. So if one has a shorter wire, that was the one at the bridge. If they are both the same length, it does not matter which you put where.

I had this idea too, but the wires are of the same length.

I will just try it one way and see what happens and if i don´t like it i will swap positions of the pickups.
